This Road Is Not A Road(2010)
This was a pseudo-exploration of certain events in my life starting with being laid-off from my job in November, through moving back into my parents home in December, and frantically applying to six grad-school programs in January, and studying for professional exams in February. Life has been a non-stop stream that feels like driving down a highway sometimes: You are driving fast, and you’re going somewhere, but the scenery is bleak and boring. You zone out. You dream of the places you’ve been, and the ones you will see. But for now, you’re just driving on this narrow strip of asphalt.
If you’re anything like me, this is the perfect time to write a song, or in this case, many songs. I tried to string these songs together in this road theme, and sometimes I succeeded. Sometimes I did not. It did, however, make the drive a whole lot more entertaining!
